本種は本州から記録があるが、日本に広く分布していると思われる。本州では山地のホタルブクロやサラシナショウマなど様々な植物の花に普通に見られる。海外では台湾、インド、ネパールに分布する。ヨーロッパに分布するT. picipes (Zetterstedt)、T. orchidii Ananthakrishnanとの識別が不明瞭でさらなる研究が必要である。

This species has been recorded from Honshu, but probably widespread in Japan, and occurs on the flowers of many kinds of plants such as Campanula punctata and Cimicifuga simplex at mountainous areas in Honshu. It was described from Taiwan and is also distributed in Nepal and India. It cannot be distinguished from T. picipes (Zetterstedt) from Europe and T. orchidii Ananthakrishnan from India satisfactorily and further studies are needed.
